Red Ovals

This piece started as an experiment with adding raw-edged strips to the quilt background during the quilting process.  My fabric choices were way too subtle.  I set it aside.  But a 50″ square piece that is already quilted begs for completion.  I remembered a sketch done several years ago which contrasted crisp black and white with organic red ovals.  I chose three different reds and added some hand stitching.  Now the too-subtle parts are a nice surprise for those who get close enough to see them.
