This piece was inspired by my first pandemic trip to Trader Joe’s. There was a long line to get in as they were limiting the number of customers in the store at any one time. Everyone in line was spaced 6 feet apart. It was very calm and orderly. That is not to say a few people didn’t drive up, look at the line, and leave. This is a new thing and many of us did not anticipate a line and a lengthy wait. It took me 50 minutes, but it was worth the wait to get things that my mother wanted. I chose gold thread to highlight the value that everyone placed on each other’s health.
Cotton fabric, polyester batting, mounted on canvas.
