Curated Quilts Mini Challenge

MarkingTime500Do you know about Curated Quilts?  It is a new quarterly magazine for quilters.  What I love is that they focus on a specific kind of quilts for each issue.  Issue #1 was all about quilts with lines.  Of course, I was excited about that!

The editors (Amy Ellis and Christine Ricks) want to include the quilt community as well, so each issue has a mini quilt challenge.  Issue #3 focuses on minimal quilts.  So I had to join in on that fun!

Clocks always capture my attention.  I’ve sketched quite a few clock quilts and included a couple in my 100 Day Project last year.  Since we are in a new year and new goals and schedules make me think about time, a clock quilt seemed a good fit.  Marking Time finishes at 16″ square and was done using raw edge fusible and quilted with lots of Aurifil 2600.  The photo here is a bit bluer than in real life.  The background fabric is Robert Kaufman Kona in Silver and the marks are Medium Grey.

I’m looking forward to reading this issue and finding out what the theme is for the next one!

I love a minimal quilt and this one with it’s partial clock face is perfect! I love the softness of the grey on grey.
