03 May Charity Challenge – May
Welcome to May’s Charity Challenge! April’s Dripping Diamonds quilt was fun to make. (I’m pretty sure I say that every month!) I’ve had these prints in my stash for ages. They are from the Half Moon Modern collection by Moda from 2011! I don’t remember for sure, but I think this collection was one of my first fat quarter bundle purchases. I’m particularly fond of the scissors and the Asian text print. I had originally planned to use more of the white with black dots from the frames to bind the quilt, but discovered some 2 1/2″ strips of black with white dots already cut – how could I resist that!
The quilt for May is Equal. A simple design composed entirely of 2 1/2″ strips. If you’ve got jelly rolls hanging around, now is your chance to use them! I don’t have any jelly rolls, so I’m planning to use a variety of red and white prints. If you wish to use a larger color selection, you’ll need 20 dark strips, 7 light strips and 5 strips for the binding. You can get the pattern here. Have fun!
