14 Mar Lines by Design Quilts blog hop – the last day!
It has been such fun to have my work shared with so many lovely people.
I know someone will ask me which quilt in the book is my favorite. While that is a bit like picking your favorite child, I have to say that Clerestory certainly ranks pretty high on the list. (Slats, Classic, Cure-All and Community Isolation are others that I’m especially fond of). In many ways, Clerestory is a very “me” quilt: lines, negative space and houses.
But in a couple of other ways, it is a “not me” kind of quilt. The first is that the fabric choices were inspired by a fabric I fell in love with (Mezzanine by Sarah Watts for Cotton + Steel). The other fabrics in the quilt were chosen to work with Sarah’s wonderful print. I rarely choose my fabric that way, but I’m certainly glad I did this time! I still love the fabric and love how it works in the quilt. The other way this quilt is a bit unusual for me is that it has quite a few (over 20) pieces in the block. In general, I like pretty simple blocks, but this is not one of them. It just goes to show, that it is worth doing things a bit differently sometimes!
So, would you like to win a copy of Lines by Design Quilts? Leave a comment and tell me whether you like simple blocks or blocks with lots of pieces or both! I’ll pick a random winner at the end of the day on Wednesday, March 16. A US winner will receive a hard copy of the book; a non-US winner will receive a digital copy.
If you have the book, I would appreciate it if you could leave a review on Amazon. Thank you so much! Good luck!
