Where have I been?

Cabo250Part of the answer is in Mexico, specifically San José del Cabo!  My husband and I took a much-needed vacation – just the two of us.  We haven’t done that in nearly 14 years!  It was wonderful!  A whole week of nothing to worry about but getting sunburned, where to relax and what to eat and drink 🙂  I can’t imagine ever tiring of that beautiful water and the sound of the waves.  So peaceful!

The real answer is that, about mid-November, I just hit a wall.  I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into this business, without taking a real break, for too long and I just didn’t have anything left to give.  At first I thought a week would do it.  That barely dented the exhaustion.  So I decided to keep the behind the scenes stuff running, and not do anything new until after the New Year.  I thought many times about popping in here with a post to let you know what was happening, but I just couldn’t seem to find the words.  With our vacation the second week in January and me getting sick just before we left Mexico, it has taken until now for me to get back to work.

Cover250One of the first things I want to do is to make some quilts that have been on my drawing board for way too long.  Some quilt designs lend themselves to patterns easily.  The two I want to make do not, but it is time I make them anyway.

Just before Christmas, I was over the moon to receive an advance copy of my book!  The book process is very long, so it can be hard to believe it is real, but I have an actual copy now, so I’m sure!  I’ll be back soon with a bit more about the book and with the February Charity Challenge post.

Thank you for being here!

PS Since I switched to WordPress, I’m having trouble getting it to email me your comments (the right boxes are checked).  I want to reply to each one, but have been having difficulty getting that to work.  Please know I appreciate each and every one!

You are so right! There’s something about the water that is so soothing, and where you were, the color as well! Glad you got a much needed break!
