Charity Challenge – September

My finished August quilt

My August Charity Challenge quilt ended up having a bit more turquoise in it than my original sketch, but that is OK – I’m using my stash!  The lighter shade is a bit more cheerful too, which is good for a charity quilt.

No Clouds

For September, I’ve decided to go with a classic star block.  Star quilts are always favorites and this one is fast and easy.  I’m calling it No Clouds since that is when you can see the most stars at night.  You can get the pattern download for No Clouds here.

I did the sketch in different shades of green since that is the color I have most of in my stash.  This quilt would look great with different colored stars too, so I might go that way with it.

The squares where the star blocks come together always grab my attention.  Maybe I’ll think of some way to feature them as well – hopefully without taking the focus off the stars.  Any ideas welcome!

You can read more about my Charity Challenge in the original post.  If you’re playing along, I hope you’re having fun.  If not, join us!  It’s a personal challenge, so there is no set number of quilts or blocks to make – it is completely up to you.
