Traveling to Tennesee!

I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be giving my lecture “What do they mean by ‘modern’ quilting?” and teaching my Turnstile class at the American Quilter’s Society show in Chattanooga on September 17!

My lecture talks about some of the characteristics of modern quilting, modern fabrics, fabric designers and the role of the internet in building the modern quilting community, and, of course, quilts!  My Turnstile class teaches the partial seam method that is used to create the turning effect in the block.  A lot of people find partial seams scary and confusing, but once you learn how to do them, you’ll see they’re really not hard at all.  Grab your favorite charm pack and come join us!

I’m looking forward to visiting Chattanooga again.  I was there once briefly many years ago and mainly remember the beautiful mountains and lush foliage.  I’ll be sure to take time to visit Spool – home of the BadAss Quilter’s Society 🙂

Go sign up now – I hope to see you there!
