BadAss Quilters Society Special Exhibit

Comma Link

Have you heard of the BadAss Quilters Society? Maddie Kertay is the woman behind it all.  Among other things, she owns Spool in Chattanooga, TN.  Basically, BadAss quilters believe in making the things they like to make, the way the want to make them while saying what they think and being nice to everyone.

So BAQS and AQS teamed up to do two special exhibits at the AQS shows this year in Chattanooga, TN and Des Moines, IA.   The Chattanooga show started yesterday and goes through Saturday and the Des Moines show is October 1-4.

My quilt, Comma Link, will be hanging in the Des Moines BAQS exhibit.  I wish I was able to go and see either of these exhibits!  You should definitely go if you can!

I went to the AQS show in Grand Rapids, MI last month and it was wonderful.  Those of you who follow me on Instagram (@eschhousequilts) and Facebook saw a lot of photos of great quilts.  My quilt, Think Positive, was finishing up nearly a year of traveling in the AQS Modern Quilt Challenge.  I’m happy to say it is now home with me again 🙂

As much as I want to, it can be hard to take time out of my schedule to go to a quilt show.  I never regret it when I do.  The variety and quality of the work on display never fails to amaze and inspire me.  (And I haven’t even mentioned the vendors…)

Have you been to a quilt show this year?
