The Modern Appliqué Workbook!

Have you ever tried appliqué and been frustrated by it and the results you got? Well, Jenifer Dick, author of The Modern Appliqué Workbook was too. But she kept at it and found a method that she loves and that works for her. Now, she is sharing that method with everyone! I think it is fantastic that Jenifer starts out her book by telling that story.  I bet a lot of people can relate to her experience.

This book is packed with thorough explanations and lots of detail.  Jenifer doesn’t just tell you what tools to use, she explains why. The book also includes lots of options and great discussions of threads and stitches and lots more.

And the projects are great! Most of them are fairly small, which I think is perfect for a book like this where you are trying new techniques.  Reading the book had me itching to set aside my current projects and try one of hers, but I’m being good… for now.

But look, this little Fish quilt even has bias appliqué!  Sigh…

Another of my favorites from the book is this Kisses quilt.  Such a perfect baby quilt, but I can also imagine making a smaller mini quilt from the block.

Jenifer and Stash Books are giving away a copy of the book (international entries are welcome, but an international winner will receive an e-book)!  So, leave a comment here by February 21 and I’ll pick a random winner.  Please don’t forget to include your email address.  You can’t win if I can’t find you!

Visit Jenifer at 42quilts.com and visit the others on the blog tour for more about the book and more chances to win!  If you can’t wait, you can order an autographed copy of the book here or a regular copy here.  Good luck!
