Abecedarian Quilt Along

Today I’m hoping to finish the top of my Thomas Knauer Abecedarian Quilt Along.  You can read more about it here.

This will be the third quilt top I’ve finished since the end of July that I plan to donate to SafeHouse (a domestic violence shelter) through the Greater Ann Arbor Quilt Guild.  I’m really hoping to find some time this month to quilt them – ’cause, you know, there is lots of free time in December.  I want to practice my free motion quilting and these tops will give me a lot of quilting real estate to cover!  I’m having a bit of a hard time setting aside the time to make backs and get them basted – my least favorite part of quilting 🙂  I’ll get there.

I’m beginning to accept that I am perpetually unrealistic in my quilting goals.  I’m always trying to fit more in than will actually fit into the time I have.  As long as I can meet my important deadlines and not stress myself out about the rest, things will get done.

Just a few more blocks and the border left on this one!
