Snowflake Tree Skirt

Snowflake in action last year

A couple of years ago, I decided that my Christmas tree skirt seriously needed replacing.  The one I’d been using was at least ten years old and didn’t match my style or living room any more.  I made it before I started quilting using pre-quilted fabric and lace edging!  So NOT me – who was that woman?

Fast forward a bit and now we have a tree skirt that is definitely me and, hopefully you too!  I love the simplicity of this snowflake design.  Of course, I made it in my favorite neutral grey and white solids, but it would look equally fantastic in brighter colors and prints too.  The skirt finishes at 48″ wide with a bound opening and optional ties.  The pattern is designed for machine appliqué that does not use fusible web.  However, if you have a bit of experience with appliqué and prefer to hand appliqué or use fusible web, a few minor adjustments are all it would take to use either of those methods instead.  My skirt was made with Robert Kaufman Kona solids in Medium Grey and White.

We still have more than a month until Christmas, so I know you can make Snowflake in time.  If not, Christmas does come around every year 🙂

You can get paper copies of the Snowflake Tree Skirt pattern in my Etsy shop and PDFs in my EtsyCraftsy and PatternSpot shops.  Wholesale purchasers can contact me directly at ehq at sbcglobal dot net or order from CheckerBrewerPetersen-Arne or United Notions.

I LOVE your design for the tree skirt! Just as you, I made mine a few years ago use pre-quilted fabric and ribbon. It really needs an update. I won't have time this year. But, I should definitely put this on my to do list for next year.
