Let the handmade holidays begin!

Just in time, Martingale has released Sew Gifts!  Sew Gifts! is filled with over 20 projects to make and give for the holidays or any time of year and is available in paper and digital versions.  I was lucky enough to have two projects in this book!

Inspired by my morning walks, one of the projects is a Wristlet Key Holder.  None of my comfy walking clothes have pockets, so I designed this handy wristlet as an easy way to take my house key with me.  It has a zippered pocket for the key and a velcro closure.

I’m a big fan of the art of Piet Mondrian, so I designed an iPad cover inspired by his work.  The zipper becomes part of the design and there is a flannel cover inside to protect your screen.

There are so many projects by others I’d like to make too!  Cinzia Alloca of deux petit souris designed a great little Card and Key Wallet for when you need to take along a little bit more than my project will allow.

The Casserole Carrier by Linda Turner Griepentrog looks like the perfect thing to give to family and friends who go to potluck holiday gatherings – or for yourself!

And who could resist this great pillow by Sarah Minshall of Hip to Piece Squares!  Isn’t her color selection fantastic?

There are so many other wonderful projects, I know you won’t want to wait long to get started πŸ™‚  Martingale has generously offered to give a digital copy of Sew Gifts! to one lucky blog reader.  So, take a look at the projects and leave a comment telling me which one you want to make most.  I’ll let Mr. Random pick a winner at the end of the day (US EDT) on Saturday, Oct 19.

Let’s start crossing some names off those gift lists with these amazing projects.

PS Don’t forget to include your email address if you’re a no-reply blogger!

That's a great little wrist carrier. On the thumbnail they also looked like Velcro attatched napkin rings which I think would also be a great idea for the carrier. They could even still have the pocket with maybe a great for the guest πŸ™‚

That oilcloth wallet looks like my kind of insanity, I've been sewing a lot of oilcloth lately! But each and every project looks great, I could see myself making the key holder wallet as teacher gifts too. – Chandra
