30 Sep Chilly mornings…

can only mean one thing!  Fall is here and the holidays aren’t far behind – especially for those of us who like to make things.  If you’re like me and don’t like to focus quite this early, I have the perfect solution for you!

Camp Stitchalot!  Camp Stitchalot is hosted by Pink Castle Fabrics and will be held at the Hankerd Inn in Pleasant Lake, Michigan from December 6-8 (Dec 5 optional).  I’ll be teaching along with Jeni of In Color Order and Anna of Noodlehead.

We’ll all be doing projects that are perfect holiday gifts.  Plus, there will be plenty of free time to work on projects you might already have underway or need to start.  Here’s another thought – even if you aren’t planning to make lots of gifts this year, it would be a wonderful gift to yourself to get away for a few days to relax before the holiday season takes over, because, let’s face it, all that activity can be a bit overwhelming for some of us.

I’m super excited about getting to hang out with everyone from Thursday or Friday afternoon thru Sunday!  All the meals are provided, so all we have to think about is sewing and having fun.

The two projects I’ll be teaching you how to make are my Holiday Hot Pad and my Easy Turn Potholders.  The Holiday Hot Pads are named because I always need more places to put hot casserole dishes when we all get together for holidays (and a few other times during the year as well).  My mother-in-law has requested these for Christmas this year.  I might also make a set with the hot pad and potholders for the gift exchange/swap we do on that side of the family.

The potholders are fast and fun with no binding and a handy pocket to put your hand into.  Both of these projects are great for orphan blocks or scraps of your favorite fabrics.  Most of my pictures here are made with just one fabrics, but there really isn’t any need to limit yourself!
