Quilting Arts TV…

Oh my!  I cannot believe it has been nearly two weeks since I’ve posted anything on this poor neglected blog!  So let me catch you up on what I’ve been up to.  First of all, lots of behind the scenes type pattern design/quilt teacher work – getting teaching proposals sorted out and submitted and much correspondence with distributors and that sort of thing.  A little more on some of that another day.

The most exciting thing was getting ready to tape four segments of Quilting Arts TV for next season!  Can you believe it!  Now that it is over, I can say it was a lot of fun.  I was a bit too nervous to think it was fun before then 🙂  I wasn’t worried about the sewing part, of course, but I was concerned about sewing on camera and about how the timing of things would work out.  Well, I needn’t have been because everyone at Quilting Arts TV was completely wonderful (note to self:  duh!).  Everything was very well organized and the people were as helpful and encouraging as could be.

Jeanne from Bernina showed me how to use the machines they have for the show and set everything up just the way it needed to be.  Pokey was fantastic at keeping me on track time-wise and asking me all the right questions so I didn’t leave anything out.  I’m in awe of her ability to know how to pace things while talking on camera and listening to the producer in her ear at the same time.

I’m not sure when the segments will air, but I’ll keep you posted.  There are lots of other great things planned for QATV this season – check out Pokey’s posts here and here for more info.
(PS As usual, I forgot to take any pictures – the picture of me and Pokey is from her blog and the shot of the set is courtesy of Cheryl, who was taping the same day as me.  Thanks, Cheryl!)

Those of you who follow me on other social media might have noticed that I took a vacation to Savannah, GA to visit family.  I’m almost home now and I’ll try to get myself back on a better blogging schedule.  Thanks to those of you who keep hanging in there with me – I appreciate it so much!!
