A new quilt?

This drawing has been taped to the wall behind my computer for several years now.  I drew it way back in 2006 or 2007 as part of a series of row robin quilts my Colorful Scrunchers group was doing.  (An amazingly creative experience!)  Back then, I did it as a traditional machine applique project.

I’ve always wanted to do something more with it.  My style has changed quite a bit since then, but I would still like to adapt the idea to a new quilt.  One of the ideas I have is speaking to me much louder than the others, so I think I’ll try to work out that design first and see if it works.

What do you think?  Does it say anything to you?

I have just started quilting and I think it will look lovely in aplique with tulips of different shades. I look forward to seeing what you eventually came up with.

hello, I saw your design on pinterest looking for border stencils to paint and soften concrete retaining walls in my backyard. This is very nice, may I use it or adapt it for this? sincerely, jeannine

Jill here…you're right that your style has changed. I'd love to see you make it more stylized, more contemporary. I'll check back soon.

I love anything with applique and flowers. I do wonder how this fits with your style. I'm anxious to see what you do with it.

I have just a little bit of experience quilting. But out of 4 quilts finished 2 had applique. I enjoy them a lot (and more important my wife loves them). I look forward to seeing what you come up with. But what it says to me is love. Roses will always make me think back to when I first fell in love with my wife 18 years ago.
