12 Jan Cottage Quilt

My oldest and dearest friend has a “cottage” on Lake Michigan (it is really a house). She and her husband invite us up there for a weekend or a few days almost every year. It is such a lovely place right on the Lake and has a wonderful west facing view. I can’t count the number of pictures of sunsets and the view I have taken from her deck!

I made this quilt for her and her family in 2008 to thank them for all the fun, friendship and relaxing times we have had together at the cottage. I had so much fun looking through my fabrics for all the blues and then deciding how much of each of the other colors to use to represent the grass, sand, sun, snow, etc.
